It took me a while to realize that the best way to scavenge wood is…all around you. While you can break things down from the wild, you don’t see wood all that often unless you’re breaking down weapons or certain armor. One material I always found I was short on, weirdly, was wood. There are more than these, like reduced chance at disease and so on, but I would start with those, lest you be driven insane otherwise. Guns actually repairing themselves on hit sometimes (a later perk in Luck).Guns breaking down less quickly (Intelligence).Food and water doing more to satiate you (usually in Endurance).Reduced carry weight for various items (usually in Strength).I would recommend some combination of the following as you go: It is worth it to sink some points into survival perks, lest you be tearing your hair out. ![]() Invest In Some Survival Perks Or You Will Go Crazyįallout has leaned heavily on survival mode-style mechanics in 76, which means that if you just invest all your points into say, combat, you’re probably going to have a bad time with all the player/equipment degradation mechanics. Yes, your base can be attacked/destroyed by other players, but I have yet to see this happen (I have yet to experience PvP at all, oddly).ģ. Mine for the last 20 hours has literally been just three platforms and those core items I mentioned. If you want to build some elaborate structure for your base that’s cool. ![]() Rinse and repeat (you will do this a lot). That way, you can travel to camp, sleep to regain health, break down items at your workbenches, repair/build what you want, then store the rest of the materials in your main camp portal. To get into a solid CAMP “loop” as I call it, you will want to start by building a sleeping bag, a cook fire, and an armor and weapons bench.
